I spent a few months exploring Buenos Aires, Argentina with a special buddy and thought maybe I bring along some rolls of 35mm film and my trusty Nikon F3 camera. What can I say about trying to focus on a one and half year-old kid with a manual prime lens and no auto-focus? It’s a kind of sport, a near futile exercise in hand-eye dexterity. I often tell my black & white darkroom photography students you do photography with your feet. I can argue that film-based photography is like a full body sport, not merely a visual art form! But if you have an interesting subject, it’s worth it.
I will post more.
